Organic Gardens
The underlying theme of The Pines Garden is the exploration of old and new models for sustainable land management and sustainable living in general, with the garden having been run organically since Spring 2002. This is far more than just not using herbicides and pesticides, with emphasis placed on working in harmony with the natural systems, composting, recycling and learning how to use natural predators to control pests.
The Pines Calyx
The Pines Garden is home to the award winning Pines Calyx Conference, Wedding and Events Venue which is in regular use providing ongoing training events related to healthy and sustainable living, along with being available to hire for conferences, private functions and weddings. The building is also open periodically for public viewing – in addition our Demo Dome is accessible all year round, and is located next to the Pines Calyx with further information on display describing this unique building.
