The Pines Garden Museum
The museum, houses a range of exciting materials, objects and artifacts with displays on environmental themes, naval heritage, World War II, Winston Churchill and the history of ‘Hellfire Corner’ as well as former playwright and performer Noel Coward.
The environmental displays are focused on the seven themes of sustainability: energy, shelter, water, food, waste, transport and biodiversity. Currently we have two displays on show: one on wild gardens in association with the Kent Wildlife Trust and the other on renewable energy demonstrating the ongoing work in taking The Pines Calyx to a zero carbon building.
The Beach at St Margaret’s Bay
Just two minutes walk from the Pines Garden is the beach at St Margaret’s Bay. At low tide an expanse of thriving rock pools are revealed, perfect to exploring the biodiversity of the sea shore. The beach itself is both pebbled and sandy and is great for outdoor environmental art.
