Comments from last years visitor book
The Pines Garden Tea Room is “a hidden gem”, “a classic Tea Room”, “just what a Tea Room should look like”, “a heaven of tranquillity and peace”, “The most delicious homemade quiche”, “the best scones ever” and “absolutely yummy cakes”.
The Tea Room is a truly peaceful little spot next to The Pines Garden and up from the beach with “no 21st century trappings” as one customer was thrilled to note. Come for homemade soup and quiches, sit outside in the sun and listen to the birds or relax in our armchairs over a scrummy cream tea and cake, the choice is yours but come and see for yourselves.
The Tea Room
Our 6 acres of organically managed gardens are going to produce even more vegetable and salad ingredients for us to use this year now that we have an additional 3 vegetable plots. However, if anyone locally has a surplus of anything: – herbs, fruit, vegetables or free range eggs (used in all our homemade quiches) that we can use, perhaps we can arrange an exchange as we are aiming to source and serve as much local produce as possible.
Every year the catering industry contributes 8 million tons of food waste to landfill sites. However by having a small and almost daily changing menu and not storing huge amounts of food, we aim to waste as little as possible.
All our tea bags, coffee grounds, vegetable peelings and egg shells are composted and put back into the garden. Everything that we can recycle is recycled.
The Bay Trust is the result of one family sharing their vision to preserve the local environment for the children of the future. By recycling, refurbishing and re-using as much as possible, we can all do our bit too.
